Genoa Courthouse Museum

The Genoa Courthouse Museum Gift Shop is filled with merchandise from many artisans residing in the Carson Valley area and throughout the State of Nevada. We believe that the merchandise we purchased reflects much of Carson Valley.

The items we continue to carry are the pottery and wooden bowls that have sold so well over the past three years; pine needle baskets, earrings, and dream catchers; Killer Salsa; V & A Honey; and Pony Express merchandise. The new merchandise we are carrying from local artisans are jewelry by Denise Jenkins, rope and wire baskets by Laurie Rasaschi from Wellington, and rope baskets and painted gourds by Jackie Allen of Elko. Our jewelry cases are filled with rings, bracelets, necklaces, and earrings designed by the Navajo and Zuni Indians. To complete our inventory we purchased soap rocks and accompanying accessories, and adorable angels. In addition there are memorable and inexpensive items.

We have two bookcases filled with books. A larger assortment of books is in the Main Street Bookstore at the museum in Gardnerville. The books we have in Genoa tend to be of more local interest. Bernadine Whitmore and Bonnie Rogers worked diligently to stock the books that would be most appropriate for Genoa.

Members of the Historical Society receive a 10% discount off of each purchased item. The success of the Gift Shop benefits the entire Historical Society and we not only appreciate your support in Genoa but also the Main Street Book Store in Gardnerville. To assist our volunteers please remember to bring your Membership Card.

Thank you for your support and we will look forward to your visit to the Genoa Courthouse Museum.
