Emigrant Trail Barn Tour

Huge Success!

The Douglas County Historical Society’s Emigrant Trail Barn Tour is over; we hope the ticket holders and volunteers all had a great time. The tour would not have been possible without the generosity and cooperation of the barn owners. They were great and made the committee’s job easy. 

The Douglas County Farm Bureau provided another delicious lunch that everyone enjoyed. The Farm Bureau’s donation to the society was $500 in food and supplies. 

We couldn’t have done the tour without the help of all the volunteers who made forms, posters, and tickets and sold them; those that took care of signs, helped serve lunch, sell books and clean up and the twenty-six that worked at the barns. It was their efforts that made the barn tour a success. THANK YOU ALL!!

Most of all we want to thank all those who purchased tickets, we hope you enjoyed it and will come again next year. Our goal was to see 100 tickets, we sold 152! With ticket sales along with barn book sales and donations, we raised $3,572 after expenses.
