Inside the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center is the place to go for books on Nevada History, mining, Basque studies, nature, and more. Special sections include local authors, great gifts, and research material. No admission required to shop at the bookstore. Prices are quite affordable with the highest priced books around $50. Plus, members of the Douglas County Historical Society receive 10% off purchases!

Books offered are not only about Nevada but about the region. Yosemite, Bodie, Lake Tahoe, Carson City, Virginia City, Black Rock Desert, and Death Valley. There are books on the Donner Party, Native American culture, and women in history. New titles always arriving.

 

Gifts include Dat-So-La-Lee Books, Nevada t-shirts, note cards, postcards, sticker books, and Comstock Cowboys CD's. Items for the special someone are wildlife, birds, geology, cooking, and Nevada travel books. Children will find coloring books, paperdoll books, dinosaur, farm animal, and endangered species books. Be sure to peruse the special section devoted to local authors.
